Our Philosophy

Just like the sun, ISKCON has different names in the different corners of the globe. You can also practice consciousness of Lord Krishna and turn out to be a part of ISKCON. For this, you don’t have to leave your religion. You just need to take on the practices. Even though, it is ethically a part of the ‘Gaudiya Vaishnava’ institution within Hinduism, the Krishna consciousness is all about going beyond the boundaries of material bodies also related designations and relate with the ultimate power.

Hare Krishna Movement

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), also popularly known as The Hare Krishna Movement, belongs to the Gaudiya-Vaishnava sampradāya, a monotheistic tradition within the Vedic or Hindu culture. The Hare Krishna Movement is dedicated to Lord Krishna who appeared on earth and spoke Bhagavad Gita around five thousand years back. This movement is purely based upon the teachings of Lord Krishna as stated in the holy Vedas.

Lord Krishna appeared on the earth to teach the people of Kaliyuga, how to recite the names of God and how to become His pure devotee. The Lord Krishna appeared in the form of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who was the combined form of Sri Radha and Sri Krishna. According to the Hare Krishna Movement, you can free yourself from the miseries of this world and attain a state of bliss, if you chant God’s sacred names. For this purpose, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu popularized the holy mantra and focused on the listening to the chanting of this mantra, “Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare”.
